This guide uses a GUI tool called "Rufus" to create bootable USB sticks. - Download you linux distribution of choice
- Download Rufus from this link
- Run Rufus (If you on Windows Vista or newer you will get a security prompt just tell it to continue)
- Ensure the proper device is set in the first field
- The second, third, and forth fields will automatically set themselves so you shouldn't need to adjust them
- Volume label is your preference it isn't necessary to change it
- On the line that says "Create bootable disk using" select the button on the far right.
- Navigate to where you downloaded your linux distributions .iso file and select it
- Click start after a few minutes the USB should be turned bootable
- no need to disconnect the usb just restart your computer load the boot prompt and have it boot off the usb
